Who benefits from preventive healthcare?

Feeling sick?
A Zpak might be just what you need. This 5-day antibiotic packs powerful treatment into a simple dosing schedule — no office visit required, just a simple telemedicine visit.
Why Do Patients Like Zpaks?
Here’s why many people prefer a Zpak over other antibiotics:
- Short treatment window (5 days instead of 7-10)
- Simple instructions
- Effective for common infections
- Low incidence of resistance when used appropriately
- Often available via telemedicine without needing an in-person visit
At Joepill.com, we’ve made it even easier — with licensed providers available to evaluate you online and, if appropriate, prescribe a Zpak without the hassle of urgent care.

What is a Zpak?
A Zpak is a short-course antibiotic treatment that contains six tablets, commonly prescribed for bacterial infections like sinusitis, bronchitis or strep throat. The name “Zpak” refers to the 5-day dosing pack: one 500mg dose on Day 1, then 250mg daily for four more days.
What Does a Zpak Treat?
- Bacterial sinus infections
- Bronchitis
- Strep throat
- Ear infections
- Pneumonia
- Skin infections
- Chlamydia (off-label)
- Traveler’s diarrhea (off-label)
How Fast Does a Zpak Work?
Most patients feel improvement within 488 to 72 hours. Symptoms like congestion, coughing, or sore throat often ease by Day 2-3. Always finish the full course, even if you feel better.
How Do I Take a Zpak?
- Day 1: Take 500mg (2 tablets)
- Days 2-5: Take 250mg (1 tablet/day)
Side Effects To Know

- Diarrhea
- Upset Stomach
- Headache

- Severe allergic reaction
- Liver issues (rare)
- C. difficile diarrhea
Always talk to your provider if symptoms worsen or new reactions occur.
When Not To Use a Zpak
- History of liver or kidney issues
- Irregular heartbeat or heart medications
- Allergic to Zpak
- Myasthenia gravis
Do I Need A Prescription?
Yes. You must consult a licensed provider before receiving a Zpak. Joepill.com makes that fast and easy — skip urgent care and get evaluated online.
Can I Drink Alcohol With a Zpak?
It’s best to avoid alcohol while taking a Zpak. While there is no direct interaction between the Zpak and alcohol, drinking can increase your risk of stomach upset, dizziness, and dehydration — all of which may make you feel worse during treatment.
Does a Zpak Treat Covid or Flu?
No. A Zpak is an antibiotic, which only treats bacterial infections. COVID-19 and the flu are caused by viruses, so it won’t help unless your doct0r suspects a secondary bacterial infection. Do not use a Zpak for viral illnesses unless advised by a healthcare provider.
How Long Does a Zpak Stay in Your System?
The Zpak has a long half-life, which means it stays in your body for several days after your last dose. A typical Zpak continues to work for up to 10 days after you finish the 5-day course. That’s why it only needs to be taken once daily.
